Tom Laughlin joined the East Tennessee State University faculty in 2003 and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences. Dr. Laughlin's research centers on the population biology of vertebrates and his teaching interests are in ecology, evolution, genetics, and vertebrate biology. Previously, he was a faculty member at Emory and Henry College, Radford University, and Virginia State University. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from East Tennessee State University and his Ph.D. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and he was a postdoctoral fellow in the Laboratory of Genomic Diversity at The National Cancer Institute. Dr. Laughlin teaches Introductory Biology III (Ecology & Evolution, Vertebrate Zoology, and Evolution.
